Project Vision

The Instagram account @rrr_onearthwelive, founded in 2019, aims to promote an eco-friendly mindset among people.

Duration: May-July, 2022
The problem:
People spend time finding the recycling information and policy on the government’s page.

The goal:
Design a product that helps people easily find out the opening hours and accurate address of each recycling spot.

Role & Responsibilities:
Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframes, low-fi and hi-fi prototyping, usability studies, and iterating on designs

Design choices & guides

- Inspired by the great nature, our logo design combines the concept of 3R’s (recycle, reduce, reuse), and the waves.

- The color palette mainly contains green and blue, the colors of mountains and the sea.
User Research & Findings

We completed the User Research Study to find out if the main user experience, Searching for recycling spots is easy for users to complete.
We also discovered and updated some features depending on users’ feedback.

Wireframe, Mockup, and Prototypes

We conduct insights into the mockup after the usability study.
Insights
1) Users want more flexibility while searching through the map

2) Users need further information about each recycling spot and process

3) Integrating the Citizen Card would be more efficient for the flow

Takeaways:
Community service plays a vital role to improve people's living. UX design itself and this brand - RRR, both make the effort to benefit others in a gentle way.

The usability study inspire me with lots of details that I didn’t think of at the beginning. Iterating isn’t an easy process, but it is essential for building a useful app.
